Arnold Leslie (Les) Rothberg, 91, of Mission Viejo, CA, passed away on March 1 at Heritage Pointe surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Les was born in London, England to Morris and Fanny Rothberg on Feb 12, 1931. At the age of eight at the start of WWII, he became an evacuee from London to the English countryside and was away from his family for four years. He served two years in the Royal Air Force as an engine mechanic and then earned a degree in electronic engineering. Les married the love of his life, Lena (Rusty) Glazier in 1953, and they had four children: Paulette, David, Simone, and Michael. In 1966, the Rothberg family moved to Southern California, together with Rusty’s mother. They made their home in Orange County: Anaheim, Laguna Woods, and Mission Viejo. At Laguna Woods Village, He was known as “Les the computer man”. For most of the 21 years that he lived there, he was a member of the computer club and was always willing to go to anyone’s home to fix a broken computer. Les is survived by his beloved wife Rusty; his children: Paulette, David and wife Renee, Simone and husband Randy Leeds, and Michael and wife Sandy; his grandchildren: Naomi and Daniel Rosen, Sarit, Nadav and Matan Rothberg, Shauna, Megan and Ryan Leeds, and Heather, Nathan and Jacob Rothberg; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lillian Montsach. Funeral services were held on March 3 at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, with Rabbi Joe Mendelsohn officiating.
