Marvin Gold was a marvelous man. His tennis friends call him MARVELOUS MARV! I played with him as my tennis partner in the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) matches. And he was still a pretty good tennis player in his late 70s and early 80s – and VERY COMPETITIVE! I was honored that he choose me to be on his team for the 2007 USTA 7.0 Division Super Senior Men League where through his excellent leadership our little team from the smallest club in Southern California, Anaheim Hills Tennis Club, we beat every major club in all of Southern California – Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, Riverside County, and San Diego County. Through Marv’s leadership we won the CHAMPIONSHIP! Besides being a tennis partner, he was a wonderful friend. He would call me from time to time just to say “Hi” and see how I was doing and to give me uncle's advice. I always enjoyed his company and conversations. And I will dearly miss his uplifting and funny emails that he wound send to all his friends. Due to issues with her health, my wife, Eloise, will not be attending the funeral. She enjoyed Marv's presence and along with me gives her condolences to Marv’s Family. Love & Prayers, Phil & Eloise Ramos
