Corona Del Mar, California - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Rubel Propp. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, his life was a tapestry of love, determination, and an unyielding spirit. Born in Corinth, Mississippi on January 2, 1935, Bob carried the vibrant essence of the South throughout his life, seamlessly blending it with the culture and landscape of California which he later adopted as home. His journey from Mississippi to California was marked by achievements and adventures that would become the source of countless heartwarming tales. A proud alumnus of Georgia Institute of Technology, Bob was not only a distinguished engineer for four decades but embodied the spirit of the institution: being "a helluva engineer.” It was in Atlanta that he met and fell in love with his college sweetheart, Maxine. After graduating, Bob served his nation in the U.S. Army with unwavering dedication and pride. After his time in the military, he, and Maxine, joyfully welcomed three wonderful sons into their world. Later, his passion for math and engineering led him to Bell Labs and then 30 years with Citi Group, forging an illustrious career. He laid roots in the picturesque town of Corona Del Mar, California, where the shores of the Pacific resonated with the rhythm of his heart for over 50 years. Though his professional accomplishments were commendable, it was Bob’s innate ability to touch lives that truly set him apart. He was a master storyteller. Be it the windy alleys of Chicago or the sun-drenched fields of Corinth, he would weave the tales of his youth and the stories of his parents and grandparents with such fervor that listeners would find themselves transported to those places and times. In his golden years of retirement, Bob discovered a new zest for life by exploring the world hand in hand with his beloved wife, Merle. Together, they embarked on several memorable journeys, creating lasting memories for themselves and their family. A particularly special destination was Israel, a place close to their hearts. Their travels were more than just sightseeing; they were a blend of faith, love, and an unending quest for knowledge. Bob was preceded in his journey by his first love, Maxine, and his parents, Moe and Miriam Propp. Today, he leaves behind a legacy of love and memories for his beloved wife, Merle; his children, Robert (Cathy), Kenneth, and David (Susan); his stepchildren, Bonnie (Michael), Wendy (Russell), and Geoffrey (Cecilia). His tales and wisdom will forever be etched in the memories of his grandchildren, Brandon (Julia), Alec, Maddie, Michael, Matthew & Megan, and step-grandchildren Robert (Brittany), Melissa (Gabe), Amanda (Kyle), Josh, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Joie and Ben. And not to forget, the sparkle in his eye, great-grandsons Hudson, Avery, Kaden and Carson
