Born Thursday 23 April 1925 Died Thursday 1 February 2024 Beverly J (Pehr) Spies was the 2nd child born to Lillian and Samuel Pehr on 23 April 1925. She attended Emerson School from Kindergarten through 12th grade. In the upper grades she and her brother Herb were both in the school band. On 28 December 1946 she married Joseph Spies, and they had 3 children. They moved from Chicago, IL to Dayton, OH, to Tucson, AZ before settling in the San Fernando Valley in CA. She was extremely involved in the Pythian Sisters and served as an advisor on both the local and state levels for the Pythian Sunshine Girls. For many years she was the office manager for McMillian Water Treatment Company. It was while working there that she was introduced to Bert Goldberg through a neighboring business. At this point she’d been widowed for 15 years. She and Bert were married on 13 June 2004. They would have celebrated their 20th anniversary this year had she lived. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother and sister, her first husband Joe Spies, her grandson David Spies. and her favorite son in law Richard Crummett She leaves behind her husband Bertram Goldberg. She also leaves: Her son Jack (Margi) Spies and their son Joshua (Cari) Spies Her son Larry (Karen) Spies and their daughter Katie Her daughter Loreli Crummett and her children and grandchildren Jason Irvin Thomas (Cheryl) Crummett and their son Samuel Daniel (Amber) Crummett and their daughter Eevie Leigh-Ann (Harrison Frazier) Crummett and their children Stephen and Richard (who is due to make his world debut any day now).
