Obituary of Phyllis Kramer
Please share a memory of Phyllis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Phyllis (Eisenberg) Kramer of Laguna Woods, California passed away at home on December 30, 2024 after a short illness. She was 97 years of age.
She was born in New York City and grew up in Hartford, Connecticut. As a teenager during WWII, she joined the USO as a performer entertaining the troops from Hartford who returned to the area. She graduated from Weaver High School and received an associate degree with honors from Hillyer College. She attended Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing in New York City, graduating first in her class. She then worked at the hospital for many years. In 1950, she married George Kramer, and they were together for 69 wonderful years until George passed away in 2019. They moved to California in 1987 and were devoted parents and grandparents who took great joy in living near their family. Phyllis was an avid bridge player and will be missed by the Laguna Woods Progressive Bridge Club.
Phyllis is survived by her beloved sons and daughter-in-law, Gary Kramer of West Hollywood and Jay and Leonie Kramer of Laguna Beach, as well as her adored grandsons Isaac and Elan Kramer. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the devoted staff from Lake Forest Services who lovingly cared for both George and Phyllis for many years as well as to those from Lake Forest Hospice who compassionately cared for Phyllis most recently.
